Root Barriers
This root barrier fabric is easier to work with and provides a continuous
uninterrupted line of protection compared to polyethylene sheets of
corrugated fiberglass that leave sections (overlaps) vulnerable to root
penetration.

Root Barriers protect your foundation from tree and shrub roots. These
roots typically move laterally toward the foundation seeking moisture.
We use "Bio Barrier" Root Barrier made from a geotextile fabric
mesh impregnated with polypropylene capsules. These capsules release
an environmentally friendly chemical (Trifiuralin). This chemical forces
roots to grow away from the foundation or below the 19" depth of
the fabric. The chemical is released over a 50-year period. These rolls
of fabric come in 100' lengths. Trenches are dug and this fabric is
tacked to the earth's wall.
